The Season Has Begun!

Cullman Swim Association has begun its 2010-11 season this weekend. Swimmers will be competing at the BSL Fall Sprint Meet in Birmingham. Reports in from Coach Allison of some nice time drops. The USA season is a long one with many meets on the horizon. The CSA swimmers have show great dedication and have been working hard. This season we are following a planned season training program which includes some advanced parametric training. Going to be exciting to see how fast our swimmers swim this season.

Some of the Gold and Silver Group taking a break for a photo-op. That pace clock in the background is becoming the swimmers buddy. Lots of hard work by our team.

Saturday the swimmers who didn't compete at BSL watched a stroke film before practice. They watched Ian Crocker demonstrate the correct way to do butterfly drills. We did a butterfly practice with a great endurance set. The swimmers have been training hard with a huge effort being show making all the practices.

Fall Practice

CSA is off and swimming. The Bronze Group is officially full, who would have thought after year of a USA program we would be full. Good problem to have. The first meet will be at BSL next weekend, this should be a great meet for the swimmers to get some times in.

Cullman High School coached by Jackie Donaldson has completed two dual meets. The Bearcats performed well with several state meet qualifiers. CHS beat Hartselle and Sparkman in the first meet and in the second meet beat Bob Jones but fell to Scottsboro.

CSA Begins Practice

Cullman Swimming Association's gold group hit the water this past week after a month mandatory lay off. Silver and Bronze groups will begin practice this week. The USA season is a long one with several peaks during the season including the AHSAA meet in December. Cullman area will be represented with two high school teams, Cullman High School and Saint Bernard Prep. Coach Jackie has put together a CHS exclusive practices as an athletic period, fantastic.

CSA has 50 swimmers not including the high schoolers. This year a true gold group is formed with higher expectations and commitment. All groups will see fast times this winter.

Some of the Gold group after a nice practice Saturday morning, in one of our beautiful pools! We will be utilizing the outdoor pool as long as weather permits.
